CLUB BYLAWS

Official Club Name:
Gael Force Robotics

The Gael Force Robotics Club is a student-led club dedicated to exposing students to robotics design and construction, while providing opportunities to participate at a competitive level of robotics in the VEX Robotics Competition. The club is composed of competition teams and an educational program for those new to robotics, called the Gael Force Academy (Development Program).

Membership requirements:
All Dublin High School rules apply to meetings and events. The advisor acts as the facilitator of the club and can make exceptions to the rules when necessary. Members must abide by their individual teams’ norms in addition to school and club rules. Members must sign the Club Contract provided at the beginning of the year, and abide by the code of conduct included within.

How often is your club going to meet and where?

The club will meet weekly for informational/educational seminars for the development team. Regular competition team meetings will be after school, several times a week depending on the team.

How will new officers be elected for existing officer positions? Explain in detail the qualifications needed to run for office and the election process.
The officers of the club are elected by a majority of the club every March at an announced meeting. Nominations will be accepted the week leading up to the determined election day. The qualifications to serve as an officer are that the student be an active club member in good standing DHS, be elected by a majority of the club and be willing to sign the Leadership Responsibility Contract.

How will new officer positions be introduced to the club (can be introduced mid-term)?
Every officer has to vote unanimously for the introduction of a specific officer position and an individual to fulfill that position.

How long will each elected member be in office?
The officers’ terms begin after the conclusion of the VEX Robotics World Championship and end after the conclusion of the VEX Robotics World Championship the following year.

What are the policies and procedures for amending the above club by-laws?
The constitution can be amended at any time provided there is a two-third majority within the officer board in favor of such an amendment and approval of the advisor.
