Presidential Service Award for DHS Chess Club Members!
We are proud and thrilled to announce that four sophomores (from left) Aryan Jain, Rajneesh Jain, Laksh Jain and Tanay Manjunath (with DHS Chess advisor, Eric Lai) received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award from Principal Maureen Byrne at the last PFSO meeting. They earned this prestigious honor for founding and leading a local weekend chess club for 30 elementary aged kids, and teaching the 50-member weekly chess club at Wells Middle School founded by DHS Chess Cub head coach Disha Seth and Rajneesh Jain – and collectively garnering almost 500 volunteer hours in one year.
We thank PFSO president Shazia Nomani, Principal Maureen Byrne and the PFSO reps for their encouragement and making this honor available for our students.
